Wow. I didn’t realize my final thought before vanishing for 2+ weeks was about my root canal. Honestly, that feels like it was about two months ago.
Yes, friends, I’m back — married, relaxed, even (can you believe it?!?!) somewhat TAN. As I have long suggested my skin is not capable of tan, this is a shock even to me.
I can’t possibly capture in a single post all that’s happened since April 26, the last time I posted and the day before we left for San Antonio for NIOSA. Suffice it to say, it’s been exactly the sort of two-week span you always dream about having … no work, few worries, great time spent with family members and loved ones, and just wonderful.
We took more than 500 photos that I would absolutely love to share with you right now, but many (if not most) are going to take some work to get share-ready, so for now just sit tight. They are coming.
It took me a long time to come to grips with it, but I should mention I’ve also decided to change my name … and that I won’t have Norell in my name any longer. I always sorta knew I’d take Daniel’s last name, but I really struggled with whether or not to keep Norell. I LOVE Norell. But, in the end, I decided to give it up. If marriage is about sacrifice and compromise, I started doing it 5 minutes after saying “I do.” (Quite literally — as I hadn’t fully made up my mind until I had to sign the marriage license, 5 minutes after our ceremony.)
So anyway, I promise to regale you with stories and photos soon. 🙂
congrats
Wow! You are really married. Welcome to my world! Now you just need a couple kids–wait–you can have mine for a few days and then you might change your mind about the kids part. I think Norell would be an awesome name for one of your possible offspring. It would be a great girl or boy name. Simon Norell or Norell Elise….I love names! Enjoy married life..remember you can't have a 50/50 split and it work, you both have to give 100%!
