Let me paint a picture for you: I’m sitting in my dad’s big recliner in my parents’ living room, writing on my laptop. My mom is in her office working (of course). My dad’s sitting in the other recliner, reading the paper. On my right is my brother, on the couch, on his laptop. In the glider chair is Joyce, on her laptop.
In other words, there are four people on computers and one reading a newspaper. Absolutely minimal conversation. Rags is snoring.
But it’s been a good weekend, despite the apparent lack of excitement. Yesterday was gorgeous and I had a wonderful trip out to my favorite spot at the lake. That was fabulous.
Today has been low key, but good. Very good, actually… in a way I hadn’t foreseen or even really hoped for.
I’m going to end the evening hanging out with longtime friends, and am really excited to catch up a bit and feel that special kind of warmth that comes when I’m surrounded by love.
