I won’t go into details, because … well, I tried, but honestly, it was really boring, even to me … and if it’s boring to me, I can’t imagine you would be remotely interested.
The bottom line is that I’m working on a new research project that is really promising. I think it can be finished (more or less) during the fall semester, and what’s more I think it has a REALLY good chance of being accepted for presentation at one or more conferences next spring. The deadlines for proposals are mostly in the next month or so, and so I’m in the process now of figuring out how to pull together my dataset so I can write a reasonably accurate proposal.
My mentor-professor at school has given the project a green light, which is especially meaningful particularly because he poo-pooed an idea I had over the summer.
