I have fallen out of the habit of reading Slate on a regular basis — as with so many other things, time makes it hard to keep up. Nevertheless, I did a quick scan today and found these jewels: Rehnquist Wasn’t Deep ThroatA look at the history of Deep Throat speculation, amid news that the …
no need for the gym. I’ve got a backyard.
OOF. In the beautiful weather that pervaded yesterday, I got this crazy idea to clean out the backyard of all the wintertime debris that had accumulated — leaves, twigs, and other, less enjoyable (dog-related) stuff. So I grabbed a rake and went to work. An hour later, I had two great big bags full of …
blog notes ….
Curtis’s blog has a new look. Spiffy! A random guy posted a comment on my blog last week. From North Carolina. I’m loving the pictures! 🙂 Daniel thinks that if he had a blog, we’d never have to talk again … we could just catch up on one another’s lives via the blogs. Wouldn’t that …
the kind of day you pray for.
It’s currently a breezy 77 degrees as I write this in Plano … the sun is shining … it’s GORGEOUS outside … and I feel fantastic. I’ve now had three days off, three glorious days that have left me feeling well rested, at peace with my world, and generally happy with my life. It’s wonderful.
note to self:
Apparently, referring to them as crazies in a public forum (such as this blog) helps keep them at bay. Because, thank the lord, The Carp failed to materialize as promised (threatened?). PRAISE ALLAH. And praise my boyfriend, who came along just in case some quick PDA was needed to ward him off.

TGI … er … R ?
In the academic world in which I live, Thursday becomes an “R.” And since I’m taking a vacation day tomorrow for a doc’s appt. and other funsies, essentially making today my Friday, I say: TGIR
I bet someone was horrified…
Early in December, I downloaded the holiday offering from the Barenaked Ladies (a band I find utterly delightful) from iTunes, and promptly became totally hooked. (ASIDE: I am still, many weeks later, finding myself absent-mindedly humming the tune “Hannukah,” which was bar none my favorite song — not surprising, is it, Tommy? 😉 Anyway, one …
