… and, October 3rd, to boot!
I know this month is going to FLY by … because we’re attempting to have a yard sale, move, and all that fun stuff over the next 25 or so days. And, I’ve got two massively huge school projects that should be at least 2/3 done (each) by the time all that happens.
Scott’s wedding Saturday was very nice. It was wonderful to see him, his parents, and his friend Posey, as well as (I wasn’t expecting this) his relatives Bob and Barbara again. (Bob and Barbara live not far from me in Rockwall and are wonderful people.) His wife, Sandee, was essentially exactly what I’d pictured for Scott… they made a very cute couple and seemed extremely happy with one another. So I say, hooray!
More important, though, was the fact that I got to leave town for two days with Daniel and relax with him. On the drive up and back we listened to the unabridged audio version of a book we’d heard about from The Daily Show — “The Last True Story I’ll Ever Tell.” It wasn’t narrated by the author, but the guy who did it did an excellent job. I’ve never been one to listen to an audio book (small exception: Dave Barry) for more than an hour or two (tops!) at a time, but this one really gripped me. It was EXCELLENT. And, thanks to that drive-time activity, I’m now ready for my next YAP book club. Fantastic! (Not that anyone’s really signed up for it…. {sigh})
Anyway, it was a nice weekend. We had lunch with Eric in Fayetteville yesterday and got caught on what’s happening in his world. I never get to see Eric often enough to suit me, but it was oh-so-nice to have 90 minutes with him over burgers yesterday.
The only downside to a weekend out of town is this: I didn’t do ANY homework for three days, and now I feel about two weeks behind. EEKS!
I get my paper proposal/sketch (for one of the aforementioned ginormous semester projects) today, and I’m *extremely* nervous about what it will say. What is it about encountering brilliant professors that always makes me feel like an intellectual imposter?
