So last night was TWU night at the Rangers. I was somewhat overwhelmed by the fact that, even though we sold out of our group tickets, we were a drop in the bucket of the 23,000+ people at the game. Our “swarm” of maroon was barely visible. Oh well. At least they didn’t advertise our group as “Texas Women’s University” on the center field tron. (Though I was fully prepared to scream at the top of my lungs: “WOMAN’S!!!!”) Instead, they went the safe route and just called us “TWU.”
It was a good game. The Rangers lost, thanks to first-inning screwups by several players that let the Mariners get an early 3-0 lead. But even though I did watch the game and do love baseball, the real fun of the evening was sitting with cool coworkers and enjoying their company (and, in one case, extreme silliness) throughout the game. The weather could not have been better and it was a relaxing, fun way to spend an evening towards the close of a semester that has been difficult and stressful. I hope we can do it again
