I don’t often publicly admit to watching the Dr. Phil show on CBS, but it’s true that I did watch an episode or three during his first two years on the air. However, I’ve found fewer and fewer of his shows worth my time lately, and an excellent Slate.com article (“Dr. Phil’s opportunistic parental-advice franchise“) explains why.
I was flipping through my DVR at lunchtime today, and was horrified to see George & Laura sitting down with Dr. Phil. I think John & Teresa are in that episode as well. That ought to be an interesting juxtaposition to tonight’s first presidential debate, eh? {sigh} What have we come to?
