Today was a really long day. Epic, really. So insane, I hardly know where to begin.
But let’s start with the most pressing matter, actually: I have no idea where my laptop’s AC adapter is. Nor am I sure what’s happened to my once-great ability to keep AC adapters handy, but in all fairness… well. I’ll get to this point eventually. Promise.
And honestly, I am just too friggin’ exhausted to tell the whole story tonight. It is, after all, 2 a.m., and I have been trying to get from Mountain Home to Nashville since around 12 noon today. For those who aren’t sure, suffice it to say that Mountain Home and Nashville ARE NOT a 14-hour drive apart. Not even close!
At any rate, I’m home safely now, and it’s largely due to three spectacular people, without whom this day would have been much, much less bearable. Since I’m all about giving credit where it’s due, here’s the hall of fame for Liz’s Charmed Life, installment #73. My parents easily earned the title of Best Damned Parents EVER tonight, dropping absolutely everything to rush to my aid in, of all places, Dyersburg, Tennessee. And Derik, a relative newcomer to, well, all of this … he kept me entertained and laughing when I could have easily been spazzing, and stayed up way too late (even though he got up way too early today) to do it. So thanks, y’all. Seriously.
OK. I’m going to conserve laptop power and recharge Liz power by shutting down and going to sleep. I’ll catch you all up tomorrow. If I find the adapter. If not, I’ll be crawling the walls, ’cause we all know how well I do without a constant stream of Internet access. 😉
