Each morning, I get a Word-a-Day e-mail from Dictionary.com. I rarely take much time to peruse the daily word because, in addition to not having the time, most of the words I already know.
Today’s is one such word, but I love it so much I thought I’d share.
cavort kuh-VORT, intransitive verb:
1. To bound or prance about.
2. To have lively or boisterous fun; to behave in a high-spirited, festive manner.
This just seems altogether appropriate on this Friday — let’s review why:
(1) It’s Friday.
(2) Tomorrow is Daniel’s big Halloween party.
(3) Tonight, I’m taking him to Maggiano’s for dinner (he’s never been) for a little quiet time together before the last-minute party baking/decorating/cleaning gets underway.
(4) Tomorrow is his birthday, too.
It just feels like a good time to cavort, y’know?
