There’s a lot of great theater going on right now (unfortunately, I haven’t seen ANY of it — grrrrrrrr), so this week’s Monday morning trivia question’s all about my favorite piece of theater: “Phantom of the Opera.”
I’ve seen “Phantom” (the Broadway musical) performed four times. The first was probably the best, simply because I’d been listening to the music for eons and had waited so long to see the musical itself. That was for my 20th birthday while I was in DC; I saw it with Mark at the Kennedy Center. The next summer, my mom, Kathy, Matt and I went to New York not long before my 21st birthday and saw it at the Majestic Theater. A couple of years later, I insisted Scott accompany me to the Orpheum in Memphis (I will forever believe the Orpheum is the *only* good thing in that city), and my final Phantom experience was with my brother, mom, Erbey, Loretta, and Bobby’s friend Joey in Kansas City.
Still, I really doubt that any of the people who have gone with me to see Phantom could answer this question … so I don’t think this unfairly advantages anyone.
I get very caught up in the music and theater of Phantom, but there’s only one song where I dependably get teary-eyed.
What is the Phantom of the Opera song that makes me cry *every time*?
A) “All I Ask of You”
B) “Music of the Night”
C) “Think of Me”
D) “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again”
Music of the Night?
