I was amazed at how many people yesterday paused to wish me a happy birthday. You all far exceeded my expectations and for that I am *extremely* grateful.
On the whole, it was a good day. I had lunch with a coworker/friend, got my german chocolate cake (YUM), and joined Daniel’s family for dinner at Maggiano’s (yay!). We ate family style and it was superb — *everything* was good. Then we went back to his dad’s house for Cold Stone cake. Can you imagine anything better? 🙂
Daniel made up for his groggy start yesterday by bringing me gorgeous roses last night and by surprising me with one of the more thoughtful (and difficult to find) gifts I’ve ever been given. He deserves several gold stars for that. 🙂
Today’s going to be a rushed day; I’m leaving now to teach Photoshop Elements and only will be at work a short time following that because I need to take Zoe to the vet this afternoon for her second round of kitten shots. Wheee! I’ve never taken a cat anywhere by myself … so this ought to be, um, *interesting*.
NOT NEARLY as interesting, though, as it will be tomorrow night when we begin a short stint cat sitting for Daniel’s sister Lisa’s cat. Charlie’s about 1 year old and reportedly very fond of chewing on shoes. Given that Simon and Penny are already over-the-moon pissed off about Zoe, introducing another cat to the zoo will no doubt be replete with “interesting” moments. Especially since Charlie’s declawed (none of the other three cats are, and there’s always Rags to consider)… !
