I’m happy to report that, after several really hot days (I hear some records were broken), our pool is now warm enough for swimming!
I spent most of last week predicting we’d be able to get into it when we returned from last week’s 3 1/2-day trip to San Antonio (I went to the Southwest Political Science Association conference there — what fun!). We DID, indeed, get in the pool on Saturday when we got home, but it was still a bit chilly, with the water temperature hovering around 77-78 degrees.
Today, though, we ventured back in for a longer spell. The water temp has risen these last four days to around 84. The water’s still got a bit of a chilly hint, but it’s certainly better than what I expect July’s water will feel like (really hot bathwater).
This is the first time in my life I’ve had my own pool, which is particularly meaningful to me because I love being in the water so much. It’s so cool!
In other news, in the wake of Monday’s exceedingly traumatic dental rendezvous, I apparently worried the dentist so much that three different people in his office (including him) checked on me yesterday to make sure I was okay. Daniel had his 6-month cleaning today, and our hygenist apparently asked what happened on Monday… she’d only, apparently, been hearing rumors, or perhaps wanted to get my side of the story. Anyway. It’s very sweet that they were concerned. Really.
