The June 27th issue of Newsweek sheds light on the latest New York Times/CBS News poll:
- 33 percent of Americans approve of the GOP-dominated Congress
- Compare that with 42 percent for the president himself
Unbelievably, Newsweek reports, “Bush’s aides and allies concede it’s time to retool the message and reconnect with the American people.”
Ya think?
OH, and here’s another thing — a link this morning from a listserv (not related to politics): compare the cost of the war in Iraq with other “priorities,” such as AIDS relief, world hunger, or college scholarships.
