Tuesday night, I had due my “big” research paper (7-10 pages, including bibliography) in my political science (presidency) class. It was a mad rush to finish on time — which I did — and thus began my week of “finals” for yet another semester.
I was out on campus Tuesday afternoon and this morning, and it already feels somewhat deserted. I’ve always thought my brother’s alma mater, Devry, had it right; their quarter ends at Thanksgiving break, and they take a month off before diving back in early in January. Coming back to college after Thanksgiving just feels dumb. Nobody has the motivation to do anything, and everyone’s ready for a break.
At any rate, the worst of my work is over. I still have a couple of projects and a final “exam” to take/turn in, but I’ve got most of the work done on all of them and hope to be completely done by the weekend. (Even though the last one’s due in another week or so.)
