Last night, I watched “The Day After Tomorrow” … which clocked in at just more than two hours, and boy, did I ever feel every second of those 124 minutes! It was very suspenseful, from the very beginning, and by the time the eye of the storm was about to reach Manhattan with Jake Gyllenhaal & friends still in the boat looking for stuff, well, I was exhausted.
Ultimately, though, I just didn’t think the ending was an appropriate payoff for all the build-up in the first 110 minutes of the movie. It just … ended. Boom. Thanks for watching.
The music was nice, though. It was scored by Harold Kloser, who also wrote the score for Alien Vs. Predator (thought you’d like to know that, Paul!). He seems to specialize in creepy and/or suspense-movie music. {shrug} In this movie specifically, it worked!
