I just dismissed my summer school students early, and surprised them by giving them tomorrow night off. And before you ask, YES, we really were supposed to have a class on Friday at 5:30 p.m.! I couldn’t believe it, either.
This week was the first week of the first summer school session, and it has been a real doozy. I’m teaching at 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., which makes for some long days. I’m also teaching an SAT class three afternoons a week and have been wrapping up with my last two ACT students (testing Saturday) this afternoon. So yeah. Not a lot of sleep chez Liz this week.
My birthday was last Saturday — a few people remembered (thank you Cotes!), but apart from that and the fact that my mom was in town long enough for breakfast, it was uninspiring, to say the least. More on this another time.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it’s time for me to go home and try to get some rest. Daniel is out of town thru Sunday to help his dad with DIY projects elsewhere, and I am really hoping I can get caught up on sleep and R&R in general!
Some of my students are high school kids born in the 1990s. It *totally* freaks me out.
