Early in December, I downloaded the holiday offering from the Barenaked Ladies (a band I find utterly delightful) from iTunes, and promptly became totally hooked.
(ASIDE: I am still, many weeks later, finding myself absent-mindedly humming the tune “Hannukah,” which was bar none my favorite song — not surprising, is it, Tommy? 😉
Anyway, one day in December after classes had ended, I had some time booked in the computer classroom at TWU where I typically teach my Web classes, but had no class actually scheduled for that time … so I went over to get some work done in the comfort and silence of a room with no phone. For my hour there, I took a burned copy of the holiday CD to play on the instructor computer over the room’s speaker system … just some music to make the time go by. With me so far?
So yesterday, I was teaching in that classroom and saw a CD face side down on the podium when I arrived. I turned it over, and immediately felt my face turn several shades of pink. (You all know what I’m talking about.)
I had labeled my CD: “Barenaked Christmas.”
Yeah, bet someone was horrified to find THAT in the computer!
