Taco Cabana, part dos

Today at lunch, I decided to try a little post-trauma Taco Cabana experiment … because I believe traumatic experiences should be overwritten with positive ones as quickly as possible. Today’s research question: Is it the case that, as Daniel suggests, all Dallas-area Taco Cabanas have declined, or is the one nearest to our house (the McKinney Cabana) just unusually horrible?

For my “experiment,” I schlepped over to UNT to the Denton Taco Cabana, where previously I’ve eaten only once. I ordered exactly the same thing for lunch (through the drive-thru, no less) that I wanted to have last night. And… the verdict?

I’d tell you, but I have to wipe the unsalty beans and super-creamy queso from my chin. 😉

Yeah, it ROCKED. One of the best Cabana meals I’ve ever had, and I that was after I had to drive it back to work — which translates into 10 minutes of transport time — before digging in.

Best of all, my food was ready in way less than five minutes.

Finally. Taco Cabana the way it should be: hot, delicious, with queso, and quick.

  1. I'm glad that you're experience was good! Taco Cabana is easily one of my favorite places (in general) to eat, and is certainly one of the top fast food places.

The problem is that I've also seen some odd things happening with differences in Taco Cabana locations. I'm sure that they would hope to have uniform experiences, but I haven't tasted that out of them.

I know that the lower Greenville location is often worse than the Greenville and Park store. It's strange disparities.

I hope the McKinney one works hard to staff the store properly…

  2. This just proves my point that I beleive the problem not soley becuase the McKinney store does a horriable job making food or running the store. I beleive that the problem is two part. 1) There are not enough locations in the north Dallas area. 2)The McKinney store has not staffed the store properly to overcome problem 1.
