This morning, I got out of bed at an unspeakably early hour so I could take Daniel and his mom, sister and stepsister to the airport for their 8:15 a.m. flight to Minneapolis. I have *never* been a morning person, so I wouldn’t say I was functioning well before sunrise today.
However, Lisa (Daniel’s sister) was maybe doing even worse. I say that because, as we were en route to the airport, she and her mom were talking about their success losing weight with Weight Watchers. Lisa’s phrasing was almost exactly this:
“Mom and I are the same size now. I have a fat ass.”
(I cringed.)
Their mom paused for a second and said, “Are you saying I have a fat ass?”
Do gaffes like that routinely occur before sunrise? If so, remind me to keep my mouth shut on the rare occasions I have to get up early. I do just fine embarassing myself during daylight hours!
